Heart of Health Clinic
Dr. Maureen O'Connor has been in private family practice since 1996 and owner since 2002 of Heart of Health Naturopathic Clinic, LLC in Vancouver, WA. Her passion is to assist others in optimizing their full potential so that they can connect with and fulfill their purpose for being. This is accomplished by working to heal all levels of the individual – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual – by applying the principles of naturopathic medicine and BioTherapeutic Drainage.
Maureen E. O’Connor, B.A., M.S., N.D. is a 1976 magna cum laude (with high honor) graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Clarke College of Dubuque, Iowa. She then received her Master of Science
degree in Forensic Chemistry in 1977 from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Specializing in the analysis of confiscated street drugs, she pursued a 14 year career as a Forensic Chemist first with the Indiana State Police Crime Laboratory and then with the Naval Investigative Service Crime Laboratory.
Being challenged personally with health problems that developed both from constant use of prescription antibiotics and the daily exposure to toxic chemicals at work over this 14 year time period, she initiated a search for a better lifestyle and system of healing. Exposure to many different natural healing modalities led her to focus her passion on wanting to help others by becoming a naturopathic physician. Dr. O’Connor received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine in 1996 at National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon, graduating with highest honors and is board certified by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners. She completed an optional two-year residency in family practice in September 1998. In addition, she received a Certificate in Naturopathic Obstetrics in December 1998. Dr. O’Connor is currently licensed as a Primary Care Naturopathic Physician in Oregon and Washington.
